Decent price for the quality.Date published: 2016-02-20Rated 1 out of 5 by MAbing from Frustrating I bought this lock when I got a bike on the cycle to work scheme. I didn't really research about the lock as I got it all bundled in together. This was back in 2012. The main complaint is the lock mechanism / keys. Locking and unlocking can be quite a frustrating experience. There have been times when I've been stooped over the lock for 5+ minutes trying to either lock or unlock the bike! I actually returned the 1st lock and I'm on the 2nd one but this is only slightly better. There is a knack and that is to try and hold it as upright as possible, with the lock mechanism at the top. Try to use light pressure when turning the key - easier said than done! Today I'm looking for a new lock and thought that I'd share my experience of this one.Date published: 2015-06-26Rated 1 out of 5 by ewg123 from Bike got stolen The lock itself clearly wasn't a match for thieves as my bike got stolen!! Also, as other reviewers have said, its very hard to unlock sometimes and requires a lot of jiggling to even lock/unlock it! Frustrating lock and in the end didnt actually do a great job protecting my bike!Date published: 2015-02-04Rated 3 out of 5 by Clarky67 from Good at first, but then not so much I didn't find this too bad to use, although I agree with the reviewers who said that the clip for attaching the D-lock to the bike is very flimsy. The cable was long and I could pretty much wind it through the frame and the back wheel and back to the D-lock at the front. But then........the cable was cut and my bike was gone :( Next time I will definitely use 2 D-locks instead.Date published: 2015-01-14Rated 1 out of 5 by Phezza from Carry Bracket Broke Going Over a SPEED BUMP! The PLASTIC carry bracket was already pretty flimsy and failed to hold the lock straight... Unless you want to carry it in a bag, the lock is rendered completely impractical by the fragile bracket, I'd recommend a lock with a strong, metal carry bracket.Date published: 2014-02-19Rated 1 out of 5 by Tryingtolockabike1 from D lock joke I bought this lock as it came with the additional tether lock but don't be fooled! The lock came with 3 keys but after two weeks one key snapped in the lock, a second would not open it all and the third opened it intermittently (taking up to 20 mins - more than my actual commute)Date published: 2013-11-18Rated 1 out of 5 by djud from worst ever I highly recommend not to buy this lock - the key is so rough that it made me furious every time I had to use it until I lost my temper completely and smashed the thing of the ground. It didn't survive.....Date published: 2013-03-23
