Carrera Vulcan Electric Mountain Bike is rated out of 5 by 25.Rated 5 out of 5 by Maddock500 from Carrerra Vulcan is a mountain goat. I live in Northwest Scotland on the side of a steep hill. I have never managed to pedal up it without stopping, until now. The motor has enough oomph to assist me up 1 km of 45 degree lanes. The bike has also attacked narrow mountain tracks, bringing an involuntary grin to my mud spattered face (must investigate mudguard options) without incident. I haven't lived with the Vulcan for long, but so far I'm having fun with it. There were some problems with the cassette sticking initially, causing the chain to fall off when I stopped pedalling. A trip back to Halfords where it was hurriedly replaced and the problem is resolved. Overall, I'm a happy customer.Date published: 2017-09-13Rated 5 out of 5 by Ukrider from Love it Amazing bike well built and great value for money . Done 23 miles on this today and have not ridden a bike for year until this week.Date published: 2017-09-09Rated 5 out of 5 by SI83 from Bit Aprehensive I was a bit skeptical buying an E bike are first , I am in my mid 30's , wanted to do the daily commute to and from work roughly 20 mile daily And wow I am really impressed love this bike rode for around a month now done over 500 mile and never missed a beat good all round bike and a absolute pleasure too ride don't let people put you off calling lazy please be under no illusions u still have to pedal overall LOVE IT !!!Date published: 2017-08-29Rated 3 out of 5 by littleelvis from am cycling with a smiling face Great bike for the money I’ve been looking at e bikes now for over a year test ride from the cheapest to the most expensive e bikes and to me the Carrera Vulcan Electric Mountain Bike is just as good if not better than the most expensive e bikes. What I love about this bike is even though its power assisted it still is a cycling bike. there no 1000watt motor with a throttle to pull you a long to me that’s not cycling that’s a motor bike. This bike got a 250-watt motor cap to 15.5 mph UK law. then after that, you got to pedal to go faster. Another thing I love is the 250-watt motor only kick in when you start to pedal and there are five setting (no eco tour climb sport) and they are very easy to change when riding I use them all. The only thing I hate about this bike is the battery. Is just too big and heavy and today there no reason for the battery to be so big and heavy. It takes up all the frame space just not nice or right. If you are riding off road and you should have to lift this bike up over a cross over you might have a few problems the battery makes the bike too heavy to lift. And this problem goes with most e bike. So that why it's only getting three stars on a five-star bike because of the battery. Having said all that am cycling with a smiling faceDate published: 2017-08-29Rated 5 out of 5 by Roger722 from Carrera Vulcan E I've had this bike about 4 weeks now and I have to say I get more enjoyment from every time I ride it. It does everything I want from it. It's good on the road and excellent off it. The battery life is holding up well, though I do ride it without the motor on when on flat ground. Though the bike is heavy, the 'walk' button that pushes the bike forward at walking pace works really well.Date published: 2017-08-21Rated 5 out of 5 by topbinner from great e bike for the money i wanted an e bike with a hidden battery but couldn't find one i liked in my price range. i find this a good compromise as the battery looks like a drinks bottle. good solid construction. lots of features on the tacho. easy to useDate published: 2017-08-21Rated 5 out of 5 by M4URR from eBikes Rock - My interest in cycling is renewed !! Got this bike on the cycle to work scheme. I already have this bike in the non-electric version and it is a well bolted together bike. The same bike as an e-bike even with half the number of gears is simply fantastic. I will now cycle anywhere as I know that there is no hill or distance that the ebike wont let me overcome with ease. I also tow my wee girl in her Spokey Jo trailer behind the bike and we are still averaging 13/14mph and getting 30+ miles on the battery. The big issue I have is it has cost me a second ebike as the other half keeps stealing it as she too is completely sold on the eBike. So just ordered the Vengeance slightly cheaper version for her and will review it when we have had a months worth of use :-) Recommended and no problems at all so far.Date published: 2017-08-14Rated 4 out of 5 by Robert1958 from Japeth k Done 190 miles in 3weeks on my Vulcan.can honestly say it's a good bike.travel back and to work 10 miles..and extremely hilly on return journey.copes with it well...on the bad side .9gears not enough..could do with 12-16. As the power kicks in at 15mph..more gears or bigger sprocket would give you more range..when I received bike back brake not functional...as the bike had been checked off before delivery this was dissapointing.hopefully rectified on my first service.Date published: 2017-08-13
