I wanted a bike to go back and to from work and this beauty does that and hasn't let me down! I ride this bike nearly every day. This if best for new comers to hybrid bikes but if you want something with more performance then look elsewhere. Gears work good but every now and then they don't switch right away and are a little clunky. Brakes are not great so buy new pads when you notice them not doing their job. Don't expect too much speed or dexterity, but it will get you from A to B no problem at all. My daily commute is 4.5 miles each way and it does this with no issues.Date published: 2017-08-10Rated 1 out of 5 by Nickname76 from Look Elsewhere, The Apollo Belmont Is Cheap For A Reason Bought this bike in July 2016 and it couldn't get much worse than it has. I'll start with the only good point. The performance is very good. The gears feel great and it really goes quick without much effort. And now the bad points. First, from the shop, the mudguard fasteners kept falling off and the mudguard came misaligned and kept making a buzzing noise as it brushed against the wheel. Secondly, if the bike went through a pothole, the handlebars would come misaligned from the wheel as it was fitted so cheaply. The brakes are poor too. They feel spongy and not very effective. And now, July 2017, only a year on from buying it, first gear is gone completely. The chain will just fall of if you switch to it. If you'd like a cheap bike, look elsewhere. I haven't ridden a bike for many years and decided I need to get fit so buying a bike seemed like a good idea. I bought this online and hey presto it came the very next day for no extra charge - great service! The bike came in a box, part assembled. Putting it together is no big deal, though they don't include the allen keys you need for the saddle and handlebars. It's a nice looking bike, reasonable quality though the mud guards and chain guard are flimsy plastic which will break easily I suspect. If you're looking for a fairly basic bike then I think this hits the spot - like anything else you get what you pay for - it's very easy to spend a heck of a lot more on a bike but it really depends what you want it for. By the way the saddle is not very comfortable, as my rear end will testify! All in all though I great buy I believe.Date published: 2017-07-14
