Boardman MX Sport Bike

This versatile ride has a lightweight triple-butted X7 alloy frame that offers excellent handling and performance across varying terrain types. Coupled with a 63mm travel Suntour suspension fork that ensures a controlled and comfortable riding experience, whilst the 27 speed SRAM gearing and powerful Tektro hydraulic disc brakes mean the Boardman MX Sport is a great go anywhere, anytime all-rounder.

I'm not an experienced cyclist so just wanted a bit of an all rounder I live in a very rural area so cycle on country lanes. This ticks all the boxes it really is a pleasure to ride lots of gears to play with and every bit of the bike is nice and smooth. My neighbor who's a serious cyclist looked at it and said for the money it's amazing value and a good quality bike. I changed the seat for comfort and added Beavertail XL mudguards. I have to say that even though it's early days, I am very pleased with it.My old bike was a Carrera Gradient (very old), and there is no comparison.The Boardman is lighter, faster, stops much better, and the gear changes are slick. It is surprising how fast this goes both for me and the MAMILs I overtake on their road bikes! The smooth welds and the blue/black colour scheme make it an attractive bike which looks more expensive than it is, which is probably one reason why my previous one was stolen. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is because the gears keep slipping which happened on my previous MX Sport and took Halfords 4 or 5 attempts to get it right. Will probably change the pedals as slipping off could be a problem in the wet. At ‘Comp’ level, these have a super-compact chainset (48-32) which will suit riders who may come across short, sharp inclines off road and the ‘Sport’ models feature a triple (48-36-24) chainset which achieves a similar offering but will weigh a tiny bit more.
