Apollo Evade Mens Mountain Bike is rated out of 5 by 38.Rated 3 out of 5 by Stephen6526 from Not the worst I brought the 2015 model brand new. Apart from the shifters and colour scheme nothing has changed so this review will still help you if your looking to buy this product. At first the bike performs admirably. The assembly off of the shelf was not so great! I had to mess around with the gears and breaks and also tighten up the rear wheel. Luckily I know about bike mechanics! The bike started to decline from there. I would recvimend you get this bike if you need something to use once or twice a week not everydayDate published: 2017-10-09Rated 2 out of 5 by Unsurprised from Meh I've had this bike for a year now, and I am not surprised that it's begining to play up. The suspension was a lie, it only goes about 30 mm, and not evenly, it goes in chunks. It's extremely heavy even though I got the 17" frame, and the disk brakes started off well, but now they stick on a while after you've stopped braking until you move with considerable force and they make horrible noises. The gear changes are horrible, sometimes they don't change for a while until you give up and stand up then they change with a massive judder that sends your foot flying off the pedal, but what can you expect for £190? All in all, it's a considerable waste of money, if you just save up and put in the extra money and go for a Carrerra bike you'll be so much better off.Date published: 2017-09-16Rated 1 out of 5 by Red24 from Poor Build Quality I purchased the bike as a self assembly & it required the front wheel, pedals, seat and handlebars to be fitted. All very straight forward. However, the front disc brake rubbed very badly on the front wheel which would only rotate 1-2 revolutions before stopping. Nothing wrong with the wheel alignment; the brakes were just poorly adjusted. The rear wheel came fitted but the rear brake disc was worse than the front. The disc wasn't centred correctly & rubbed badly every half rotation of the wheel. I didn't expect to have to set-up the brakes and returned the bike for a full refund. Very disappointing.Date published: 2017-09-05Rated 1 out of 5 by Brummiegirl from Never even got built! We new that the bike came unbuilt and that we would have to build it but what we didn't realise was that it would take 2 full days and still not be working. We returned the bike.Date published: 2017-08-28Rated 3 out of 5 by slkao from Easily breakable This bike is a pretty decent bike to be fair but the seat is uncomfortable and gears always plays up. It starts with the front suspension , it is very bad it says that it travels 60mm but it doesn't really travel that far. The wheels are too big .The bike is aimed for rich people because parts break easily and you would wand to spend at least £80 on it.Date published: 2017-08-27Rated 4 out of 5 by CJRUT from Apolo Evade After having problems with my initial order, and no one able to advise me, and delivery not know, a very helpful Halfords employee found a similar bike in his shop and offered to build that for me, it was the same make, slightly =different model, but much cheaper... can't fault the bike, however have only been riding a few weeks and with the English weather not very often.Date published: 2017-08-24Rated 3 out of 5 by Frank2004 from Apollo Evade Full Review from Top to Bottom. Hello everybody, I am going to do a full review on this Apollo Evade that I bought a month ago. Let me first start off with the seat. The Seat is not the best, but still comforting, after sitting down and riding for about hour, your pelvis starts to be sore, this is annoying because the seat is to wide, if you sit a lot when riding bikes, try to get a seat that is skinny, because it won’t hurt as much. The Headset and Stem is cheap, this is a retro style type, as now many of the new bikes have a different headset and stem to provide more Durability. The handlebar is not made for downhill, so don’t even try. The gear shifters are twist shifters (this is common in low end bikes). And the grip is a hassle to work with, yes, it is good, but the grip comes off easily. I like how it says that the frame is made of Aluminium, but really it is not, it’s just sheets of Aluminium with a Steal core in the middle. The Drive train (were the chain moves on) is not bad, but could give more tension to the Chain that keeps bouncing on the Chain stay. I like it how they tried to put some clear tape to protect the Chain stay when they could have just made the drive train put more tension on the chain, but as the Chain is cheap it can brake if you do put too much tension. The Shimano gear is reliable but it does sometimes malfunction and make the chain stay in one gear for serval minutes before changing to another gear (Which scares me). The Brakes are probably the best part of the Bike, I recommend you get them checked in Halfords because you can break it easily. The Front suspension just does not work. It says that the Suspension can do 60 mm of travel, but, it does 20 30 mm max. I’m surprised that they added Kenda wheels to the Bike, because it looked rushed, you could see the lines every 10 mms it just shocks me. Now if you are looking for a good entry level bike, this is perfect, but don’t be excited, because if you fall badly, it’s a death sentence for your bike. I would recommend not to buy it if you are into mountain biking, it would simply shatter.Date published: 2017-08-17Rated 4 out of 5 by Harry6262737 from Good bike This bike is a great purchase and great value for money. It has a very comfortable saddle, reliable disk breaks and a very good front suspension which makes the bike very comfortable and fast to use on the bumpy country roads that I ride them in. However the gears aren't the smoothest but it may just take some time for me to get used to. I would recommend this bike for anyone who would need for riding around the roads and easy trailsDate published: 2017-08-03
