Boardman Mountain Bike Pro Full Suspension 27.5" is rated out of 5 by 36.Rated 3 out of 5 by Bluregard from Great bike to start with, cant take hard riding Ive had the bike for roughly 6 months and it started off as a great bike after light testing i found myself more confident after upgrading to this from the new range comp. After a few rides i was getting the bike out of the garage and it slid down the wall it was resting on and hit the rear deralliur bending the hanger and leaving a small crack in the hanger, 30 pounds later and the hanger is replaced returning the gears to normal after a light calibration. After a the truely heavy test of a 24hr race in the rain mud and everything that comes with it, the crank set came loose half way through a lap and due to the heavy mud and rain i had not realised, after initially not knowing what the problem was i had it looked at by halfords, the answer was that it wasnt a warrantee issuse as it had been ridden like it, which is fair enough but still dissapointing. From the beginning the brakes have been fairly spongey and required a heavy bleed when taken out of the box which adjustment and calibration never improved. Overall i started off loving this bike however over time it is becoming more expensive and alot of work to maintain.Date published: 2017-08-12Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from More to come..... After much research on more expensive 'designer' bikes, I decided this to be 'the one'. Got a good deal and I love this bike - especially the level of components and looks. It feels solid yet nimble, fast yet predictable and puts a smile on my face every ride. But.......After much adjusting, research and advice seeking - I simply cannot get the gear shifting to work!!! It's OK when at a steady pace on flat ground but jumps about all over the place when things get pacey and bumpy. Awful so far. Really gutted atm. Awaiting replies from Halfords / Boardman.....Date published: 2017-07-16Rated 5 out of 5 by GerardM from Best sun £2k bike on sale today This is a lot of bike for the cash. The geometry is set up for maximum fun and most of the part are top notch. The only let down are the tyres. They cause some how manage to be both slippy and massively draggy. The steal your power while making an otherwise amazing bike twitchy, especially on wet, rocky terrain.Date published: 2017-06-30Rated 5 out of 5 by Mat45 from Amazing bike at a fantastic price This is my forth bike I've bought from Halfords and as always the service was excellent. My latest purchase The Boardman FS Pro has blown me away by how good it is. I do most of my riding in the Peak District where it's very rocky but this thing just glides over it. Coming from a Carrera Fury (very good bike) I'm finding the Boardman to enable me to ride longer with less fatigue. Although it's a heavier bike it's just so comfy. Everything works faultlessly.Date published: 2017-06-26Rated 5 out of 5 by James21 from Superb bike for such a low price I am an 17 year old biker and this is the best bike I have ever found. Always wanted it and I got it on my 17th Birthday. It's flawless. Amazing performance Low Price (Cheap) I recommend it for serious Cyclists like meDate published: 2017-06-03Rated 5 out of 5 by SJS40 from Instant smiles I've been riding a boardman mx hybrid for a while, and whilst it's really nice bike in its own own right I struggled on anything too rough. So the wife treated me to this fs pro. Seriously impressed, so much going on for under £1500 quid. Real good build quality, rock shox pike/ monarch soaks up everything. Gave it some serious hammer second time out and never missed a beat.. Gear ratios surprised me ( in a good way) Agreed the seat is hard, even with padded shortsDate published: 2017-05-29Rated 5 out of 5 by HeftyHugh from Superb bike for an incredible price I originally had my heart set on an Orange Five, but there was no way my wife was going to let me spend £3K on a bike. So, in the spirit of marital harmony, I decided (after reading many reviews) to buy this Boardman. I also have a Boardman Team Carbon road bike which I rate very highly, so I was pretty confident this bike would not fall short on quality and performance. So far, I have not been disappointed. The build quality and finish is excellent and the staff in Halfords did a great job with the assembly and initial set up. I also got 10% off with my British Cycling membership and £75 worth of free cycling accessories thrown in as well. Got to be happy with that. To get it just right, I fitted a Brand X dropper post and some DMR V12 pedals - even with these added the total price was still under £1500! I initially took it out for a couple of fairly sedate rides to get a feel for it and to tweak the suspension settings to my liking. I was immediately impressed by the general feel of the bike, which must have a lot to do with the geometry and riding position - it just felt good from the off. The Rockshox Pike forks are amazing, they just work so smoothly. To begin with, I was a bit miffed with the lack of lockout on them, but after a while I discovered it isn't really an issue; if you want to firm them up a bit, you can just reach down and whack the compression damping up to max which takes care of things nicely. The SRAM Guide brakes work very well; they have a very progressive bite which makes for precise control of the impressive stopping power. The 1 X 11 drivetrain is slick and positive and does it's job very competently. So, today I took it out for some more serious riding. With the encouragement (peer pressure) from a more experienced MTBer mate, I ended up doing some pretty demanding downhill lines, plenty of decent size jumps, drop-offs and some pretty technical climbs. The bike performed perfectly and was a pleasure to ride. I can't wait to take it out again and push it harder. I really am genuinely impressed with this bike and my MTB mates seem to think I have a real bargain. And they are absolutely right.Date published: 2017-05-28Rated 5 out of 5 by stevetheman23 from amazing bike i just got my boardman pro from the portsmouth store and what can i say the guys where great lewis and luke a big thanks from me i was a bit worried about getting a full suspension bike as never had one before but as soon as i took it for a ride it was cool and when it went off road the bike become even better all ready now for next bit of south downs way thanks very much guys if there where more stars i give themDate published: 2017-04-11
