The Boardman Mountain Bike Team 29er is a confidence-inspiring bike that offers all day trail capability with balanced handling, taking full advantage of the increased rolling performance, stability and traction that only the 29" wheel platform can provide. The excellent 120mm travel RockShox Recon Silver Air fork effortlessly smooths out uneven terrain whilst providing excellent steering precision, and Avid DB5 hydraulic disc brakes give powerful, controlled and modulated braking performance.

However I decided to order a man after thinking the compact frame of my lady road bike was a bit short. Got it all set up and once on bike it felt fine longer reach than ladies specific bike obviously. I bought a small size 16" frame. I am really pleased with purchase. Love the Sram gears. Smooth change. Probably the best value SRAM 1X kitted out bike on the market and the range of gears is incredible. The shifting is super slick too.Date published: 2017-09-23Rated 5 out of 5 by Fastjet from Absolutely stunning Bought this as an upgrade from my Voodoo Bantu as I wanted more speed and simpler mech. I already own a Boardman Pro Hybrib road bike which has been absolutely awesome but had no really considered an MTB from them. This bike does not disappoint!! It's lightweight with amazing brakes and silky smooth gear changes. The 11 speed SRAM Gx is absolutely fabulous and gives as good a range as the 24 speed Voodo it replaces with a much simpler and sturdier mech set up. The forks are excellent although you will need a shock pump to set them up properly. One more gadget that I bought..... :) once set up they are really nice to ride with and absorb all that the trails I ride could throw at it. The seat is as hard as a diamond and probably sharp enough to cut steel. I swapped it for my usual Respiro Pro Gel seat!! The quick release wheels axles are the solid type which really helps with rigidity. The rims are Mavick 319 which are identical to my Hybrid and have proven to be a good wheel over a few thousand miles. The bars are REALLY wide at 740mm which coupled with a short stem make the bike really quick to turn especially considering the sheer size of the wheels. I may downsize them slightly to 690mm. For the money you really can't go wrong if you are looking for a quality hardtail. I would also like to once again than Steve and the guys at Corby for outstanding service. People run down Halfords but this is my 5th bike from them between myself and the wife and I find the service and after sales support from these guys second to none. Been out on three good rides now and it has not disappointed, this is a great bike. Feels really comfortable great speed, if this is your budget then you can't go far wrong with this bike. Also worth noting that the red in the picture on the website really does not do this bike Justice, the paint finish is great but you've actually got to see it to appreciate itDate published: 2017-07-03
