A lightweight, triple butted X7 alloy frame is complemented by a carbon fibre fork for unparalleled comfort, stiffness and control. Boardman Road Sport Bike is rated out of 5 by 10.Rated 5 out of 5 by Granty636 from Perfect first road bike I purchased this bike for both commuting and weekend riding and so far really impressed i had the boardman hybrid pedals fitted so i can ride in normal shoes or clip in ones which has made things simple the bike is extremely lightweight and moves along nicely without much effort, the gear-change system is great although i think could do with resetting already after one week as the gears are not locating as smooth and accurately as when first ridden. I bought it to try and get into cycling to improve my fitness. It is so easy to ride and just soaks up the miles. And if you need a training bike or a winter bike this bike is ideal and will do all you require. I would imagine buying a more expensive one would only help performance if you are into club runs or time trials etc. I changed the pedals to shimano spd-sl and bought a pair of shoes with cleats. The bike is perfect and I've done a little over 90 miles in two weeks. This from someone who is seriously unfit and hasn't cycled a bike in 20 years. Fantastic service from Halfords as well. Really pleased with my purchase. This is my first road bike and i cant believe the difference. I purchased this through the Bike2work Scheme and this bike seems to be aimed at that market. The bike feels and performs with quality. It feels like a much more expensive bike the only downside is the small additional weight not found in the the elite bikes. The only downside have found so far is the gear change can be sloppy but this could be something that changes after the Halfords 6 week check and tighten.
