Carrera Crossfire E Mens Electric Hybrid Bike – 17”, 19”, 21” FramesTake the strain out of your daily commute or weekend outing with the Carrera Crossfire E. On a single charge the 417Wh battery provides up to 60 miles of pedalling assistance and will propel you on to speeds of 15.5mph. The Suntour rear hub motor with premium torque sensor offers 3 levels of assistance – Climb, Tour, and Eco – so you will have the power you need exactly when you need it. The lightweight alloy frame and 8-speed gearing will help you up the hills, while the Suntour 75mm travel suspension forks will soften the bumps so you stay in control. Tektro disc brakes deliver reliable braking power whilst puncture resistant 700c Kenda K-935 tyres should help prevent a flat tyre from stopping you. If you’re looking for a solid bike that can handle roads and off-road paths alike, the Carrera E should be on your shortlist.
MotorThe Carrera Crossfire E is built around a fantastic Suntour rear hub electric motor system, seemlessly integrated into the rear wheel. The power control in the system is delivered courtesy of a premium Torque sensor, which gradually eases the power in and out in response to your input, providing a natural ride characteristic and a real reason to upgrade from more basic speed sensor systems. The quality of the Torque sensor is really notable when accelerating out of corners or when making tighter intricate maneuvers. As required by law, the motor will automatically stop assisting you once you achieve a speed of 15.5mph.
BatteryA Li-Ion Phylion battery is mounted onto the Crossfire E’s frame, weight is balanced against the rear mounted hub motor providing an improved ride quality, over those with rear-mounted batteries. With a large battery capacity of 417Wh / 11.58Ah and a range of up to 60miles per charge the Crossfire is very capable of going the distance. As standard on all Carrera E-bikes, the Crossfire comes with an integrated smart control system that protects the battery from overheating, short circuiting or overcharging. The battery re-charges in just 6 hours, and comes with a full 2-year / 500 charge warranty.
Note; The total travel distance will depend on the capacity of the battery, rider and luggage weight, power mode setting and riding style.
Head-UnitThe electric motor of the Carrera Crossfire is controlled via full LCD Suntour Head Unit. The detachable head unit allows you to choose from one of 4 assistance modes, depending on the level of support you require. The unit also allows the user to view additional data such as Speed and Mileage to provide additional data whilst riding. The display is located centrally, directly below the line of vision whilst riding, allowing you to keep your attention on the road ahead.

Carrera Crossfire-E Mens Electric Hybrid Bike - 17", 19", 21" Frames is rated out of 5 by 150.Rated 5 out of 5 by Geno67 from Two years on and i am still pleased. Ive done 2000 kilometres on this bike over the last two summers and enjoyed every moment of it. I am a large guy at the top end of its carrying capacity at 120kgs. Get on average 30 miles per charge. Ive had to have a few rear spokes replaced in this time and ived had the cut out issues others have mentioned previously. To cure this cut a strip of old inner tube down to about 15 x 30 mm and place it between the battery and the lower mount, this has cured the problem for me. Ive used the bike both on and off road around the local reservoirs, this one definitely for road and not too rough tracks is great, am thinking of a Vulcan for offroading next year. I frequently cycle 20 miles to work and back and at 67 its good enough for me.Date published: 2018-10-31Rated 5 out of 5 by Oldmale47 from Carrera crossfire hybrid ebike, a great bike I collected my new ebike this morning having had a good test ride on Monday. I'm using it for a combination of exercise and a little commuting. I'm a 71yr old man who is reasonably fit and active but I need a little help getting up the steep hills where I live. I must say it's done everything I expected and more, the build is very good, the controls easy to use and a decent battery life. One thing to point out is that you still have to pedal, if you don't the bike will stop, the electrics are there to assist not do it for you, if you feel like some hard work simply turn the power off until you need it. Finally I'd like to say a massive thanks to Dalton and the staff of the cycle department at Halfords in Cramlington they're help and advice is very much appreciated.Date published: 2018-10-26Rated 5 out of 5 by Hollyne from Best for commuting in London (20 miles per day, mostly following a canal) Amazing Ebike at a good price. Range 40 miles with maximum assistance (mostly flat terrain). I tested different E bikes (price range from £1,000 to £4,000: Motors Bosh, Yamaha and others) and for the quality/price you can't find better. What I don't like: -You can slightly hear the motor -Fork -Size of the battery - top speed with assistance (legally limited to 15.5 mph). Road bike goes faster that you on good flat road) I tried motorbike 125, normal bicycle, tube, bus, car, scooter) and this is the best option for commuting in London! Cycle republic Oxford Circus have amazing team, please ask Angus to help you.Date published: 2018-10-15Rated 5 out of 5 by mdoyle from Excellent Bike I took the 48 hour test ride for this bike on the 9-10th Oct and the bike was a pleasure to ride I managed to do a 30 mile round trip on the 9th. a ride I would never have managed without the motor due to my fitness level and cycled into work on the 10th which is only 6.9 miles but is mostly all uphill. The power from the motor was superb at getting my frame uphill with ease, I weight somewhere between 24/25st. On flat surfaces the bike is very nippy without the motor. The controls were easy to follow. This was my 1st experience with a E-Bike and I am very impressedDate published: 2018-10-11Rated 5 out of 5 by JRicko from Outstanding quality and service from Halfords Buy this bike. I have had this bike for about 18 months. Ridden it for about 13 months in total in rain, snow and hilly terrain doing about 6500 miles. Outstanding bike, price and service from Haldords Chesterfield. The bike is now £1000. Bought Schwalbe Marathon plus tyres. These tyres are still like brand new. Did loads of research. This is the bike and the tyres for you. 100 % fantastic. Buy it. For sure.Date published: 2018-09-26Rated 3 out of 5 by Dave380 from Test ride for 30 mins ended with power cutoff All started great and loved the bike. Mainly riding in eco or tour mode and found the bike t9 be great. With a mile to go back to shop , with plenty of juice left in the battery suddenly the display went blank and I lost all power. Tried to power back on but nothing. A somewhat harder ride back to the shop where they managed to restart the power ok. Can only assume something had overheated and needed to cool down. From the highs of ready to buy one, this issue has left me concerned this could be a regular occurrence and therefore would have little trust in taking the bike any distance from home. Really need a 48 hr test ride to prove if the bike can be trusted but nearest store is 50 miles away. Real shame.Date published: 2018-09-26Rated 5 out of 5 by IP12 from Very good bike for the price I bought this bike during a recent sale when it was reduced to £1000 from £1250. It is the best entry-level electric bike I've seen. The frame is good and relatively lightweight, compensating for the weight of the battery and motor. The weight is relatively well-balanced with the battery in the middle and the motor on the rear wheel. The controls are very easy to use. The battery has a considerable life, 50km on moderate useage, more on eco-mode, ideal for a commute or a short to medium day trip. The only problem I encountered was with the motor control selector, which is on the left hand-grip. The buttons are prone to sticking (I leaned on it briefly and found it stuck in turbo mode) and a spare handset or a small screwdriver may be required to release stuck buttons, although it did return to normal after a week.Date published: 2018-09-20Rated 5 out of 5 by Adie1964 from Great bike I'm a 53 year old male and I started cycling again over a year ago trying to get fit but because I'm over weight and unfit i found it hard on a normal bike. So just over a month ago I treated myself to this bike and I have to say I love cycling now . It makes it so easy getting up the steep hills and gives you so much more freedom as you start going further than you would on a normal bike also I've not had the trouble with the bike cutting out like some have had . So I would definitely recommend this bike even more so if your getting on a bit and wanting to get fitterDate published: 2018-09-03
