Tacx Neo Smart Turbo TrainerThe world's first true direct drive trainer, the Tacx Neo Smart Turbo Trainer is a feat of engineering. With no fly wheel, the magic happens with 10,000 communication transfers per second, creating real life inertia just like riding on the road. No high speed running noise or vibration ensures the Neo is whisper quiet, and the freehub body is universal; so whether you have a Shimano, SRAM or Campagnolo cassette, you can use the Neo without fuss. You can even plug the Neo in and it magically simulates climbs and descents, making this the ultimate indoor trainer.
The Neo's innovative working principle has been the key to mastering the contradiction of being able to create a very powerful, yet silent trainer. To optimise power efficiency from pedal to motor, Tacx have eliminated all phsical transitions, no belt, roller or wheel.

Tacx Neo Smart Turbo Trainer is rated out of 5 by 9.Rated 5 out of 5 by Jonoe from Excellent product High quality product which is a huge improvement over my previous taco smart roller trainer. Much more realistic and smoother so not as brutal on the knees. Ordering process very easy and everything arrived in time for store collection. On the store collection, this is an expensive piece of kit. Buying from a national store gives me the reassurance that were anything to go wrong, I can resolve at a local store, rather than having to chase down an elusive on line supplier and Incurring lots of shipping and packing.Date published: 2018-04-21Rated 5 out of 5 by MalNW from Great trainer and perfect with Zwift A good solid trainer, much better than my bkool. Direct drive so quiet and very solid when pushing the power. Simulated the cobbles/gravel etc on Zwift which adds realism but can be turned off. Expensive but well worth it when on offer or price matching.Date published: 2018-04-04Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Smart trainings still painful! Hardest thing about setting it up is fitting the cassette, which you need to purchase separately. The rest of the set-up & pairing with smart platform software, Zwift in my case, was straightforward and intuative. Takes a little getting used too as you need to watch the gradients and realise that when you see the gradient increasing, if you slow the cadence as you would on an ascent, the Tacx adjusts resistance accordingly.Date published: 2018-02-08Rated 4 out of 5 by BullfrogBlues from Tacx Neo The trainer is easy to set-up and my Turbo bike with a 9 speed cassette fitted perfectly. The tacx app controls the trainer well and is easy to use for basic workouts. Connecting via Bluetooth to an iPhone is easy. In use the trainer is very quiet and has a realistic feel when pedallingDate published: 2018-02-03Rated 4 out of 5 by Banksy1 from Tacx neo I’ve been luckily enough to own both wahoo kickr and tacx neo and the difference is noticable. Firstly the reason I bought a tacx neo was down to the bearings failing on my wahoo kickr so I wouldnt be typing this if that hadn’t happened, the tacx neo is alot smoother and quieter than the wahoo kickr and seems to have a more realistc road feel, the downfall on the tacx is the movement left and right when pedalling it tends to rock quite freely unlike the kickr which was rock solid so you have to learn to cycling on the tacx. Unfortunately the tacx doesnt have adjustable feet so if your base/floor isn’t perfectly horizontal they you will need to balance the tacx with a mat or whatever makes the height difference.Date published: 2018-01-25Rated 5 out of 5 by Radiomon1 from Accurate fitness at home The first one I had didn't work properly as the cooling fan wasn't kicking in and the system was shutting down. A quick phone call to Halfords and they ordered me a replacement that works great. An amazing piece of equipment; far more than an exercise toy. Tacx has software on line and won't be supporting their tacx virtual software for much longer that costs close on £70 even with an enclosed discount card. My advice is to start with what you have and then buy software if you need. Overall an amazing experience but expensive.Date published: 2018-01-11Rated 5 out of 5 by Mikeysnake1967 from awesome product but expensive Brought this at xmas, its been awesome, works perfectly well and is as realistic as your gonna get. simulates hills amazingly well. also super quiet, all I can here is the drive train. Expensive but worth the investment with the lovely british weather we have.Date published: 2018-01-09Rated 5 out of 5 by Green4510bikes from For the lucky few As real as your going to get to cycling outdoors. Gradients and power very accurate and latest firmware update gives you road surface mimicking which adds further to the experience. Unit is pretty heavy but very sturdy. As described the only sound that comes from the unit is your drive chain.Date published: 2016-10-26
