Instructions for use:

Refer to the icons for quick instructions, working temperature, time between coats, drying times etc.

For best results ensure the can is at room temperature before use.

Avoid spraying in direct sunshine, cold, damp, humid or windy weather.

Recommended ambient temperature whilst painting +15° to + 25°C.

After use, turn the can upside down and spray for around 3-5 seconds to clear the nozzle and prevent blockages when used next.

Ensure you read the complete instructions and familiarise yourself with each step.

Ensure you have all consumables needed to hand before starting the repair.

Instructions:

Complete all steps necessary to prepare, prime and paint the vehicle or object you are painting. Follow the instructions on these paint cans to get to a stage where the colour paint has been fully applied and completely hardened.

It may be necessary to lightly sand the colour coat using P1200 wet and dry paper to remove any imperfections in the fresh paint, or to provide a key to existing aged paint. Take a tack cloth and remove any dust and contaminants on the freshly painted panel.

When lacquering an existing surface that has NOT been freshly painted, surface cleaner/ degreaser and a lint free cloth should be used to remove any additional contaminants.

Use a quality masking tape and masking paper or roll to fully mask off the vehicle leaving the area to be lacquered.

In an instance where a spot repair is being performed to a section of a single panel, leave an additional 30cm extra unmasked from the freshly painted colour edge so that the paint lacquer can be blended from old to new in this section.

Shake the can for 2 minutes. Apply a first thin coat to give best possible adhesion to the paint. It is important to ensure that the next layers of lacquer are applied at 15 minute intervals between coats. Leaving the paint to dry for any longer can cause wrinkling and adhesion issues. Ensure that before each coat, the can is shaken for a further 2 minutes. Build up the no more than 3 layers of lacquer until a uniform thickness and coverage is achieved.

Before reassembly, polishing, washing, or using the vehicle allow the paint to completely harden following the time guidance on the can.

CAUTIONS

Whilst the lacquer is hardened within 24 hours, allow 7 days before it comes into contact with any petrol or solvents.

Take care to wipe off any spilt petrol from the paint as soon as possible.

The petrol resistant properties of this Alkyd based paint can have a yellowing effect on bright white colours.

*The drying time can change depending on the ambient temperature, humidity and the thickness of the coats applied. Ensure the paint is fully dry before moving onto the next stage.

Take care when preparing older paint surfaces (Pre 1970) as these may contain harmful Lead.

Ensure ventilation is adequate in the area you are painting in to prevent harmful build-up of solvent gasses."
