What are refurbished products?

Ever wondered what happens when you return a product? Often, it will become a refurbished product.

A certified refurbished product is one that has been returned to the manufacturer, whether that be because it was no longer wanted, faulty or was a demonstration product. Once returned, the product is restored to its former glory by the manufacturer, so that it’s in a saleable condition. It will then be fully repackaged, ready to be sold.

Of course, before being resold, all refurbished products are quality checked, so that you can be confident that you’re getting a high-quality product. Once checked, the product will be marked as certified refurbished.

Can refurbished products be trusted?

Understandably, some people are wary of buying refurbished products. After all, aren’t you getting old or damaged goods?

Not at all! Every refurbished product is fully restored by the manufacturer to ensure that it’s fully functional. They’re also comprehensively quality checked

Although all efforts are made to restore the products to the highest standards, in some instances there may be some minor cosmetic wear. Despite this, the product will still work as expected.

What if I want to return the product?

If you change your mind and decide you no longer want your refurbished item, you'll need to return your item to Halfords within 14 days of purchase. This does not affect your statutory rights, however please note that the item must be returned unused, in its original packaging with an unbroken seal, along with the original packing note or receipt, and with the invoice for proof of purchase.

What if my product doesn’t work?

If your item is found to be faulty, your product is supported by a 3-month warranty from the date of purchase.
