From that very first trip home from the hospital, to family weekends away and days out together, your baby's car seat is one of the most important purchases you'll make as a parent.
The vast amount of car seat options available, and all the regulations you need to adhere to, can be extremely confusing - however, with a Chicco Car Seat, it’s easy.
A few important things to remember when buying your child's car seat are the following:
- By law, all children must be in a car seat until they are at least 12 years old, or 135cm tall, whichever comes first.
- When selecting your child’s car seat, the factor to focus on is weight, and not age - it is recommended that all babies are kept in rear-facing car seats until they are at least 9kg (approx. 15 months).
With these factors in mind, you are then faced with a choice of Group 0-3, rear-facing or forward-facing, ISOFIX, and booster seats - all of which can be extremely confusing!
When selecting a group from 0-3, this is based on the size, weight and height of your child - with a Chicco Car Seat, it’s clear which car seat is suitable for what size child, so you should be able to select which group Chicco Car Seat you need.
ISOFIX is an international standard which makes it easier to fit a car seat without using the seatbelts within your car.
Instead of using the car's seat belt, ISOFIX connectors on the car seat will lock into the ISOFIX anchor points in your car, preventing the seat tilting or rotating in the event of an accident.
All cars manufactured after 2011 are fitted with an ISOFIX system, and provide safer, easier and simpler methods for fitting your Chicco Car Seat into your vehicle.

If the top of your child's head appears above the upper edge of the backrest, or your child’s shoulders are more than 2cm above the integrated seat belt attachment, it’s time for a new car seat.

Chicco Seat Up 012 with Integrated BebECare Technology
This Chicco Car Seat falls into Groups 0+/1/2 and accompanies your baby from birth until around six years old.
This Chicco Baby Seat is the first seat in Europe to have the intelligent BebèCare Technology integrated in it, which detects & advises parents on the baby's presence in the car seat.
Connect up your smartphone via Bluetooth to the BebèCare App and you'll be able to receive a live status on your child's location.
If the driver walks away from the car leaving the child unattended, an acoustic & visual alarm is sent directly to the connected smartphone alerting them of the situation.
In case of emergency, this is a great precaution to have, and if the initial alarm is not answered a second level alarm within the BebèCare App will send a notification SMS with a GPS location of the child to other pre-set emergency contacts within the app allowing them to contact the driver or locate the child as necessary.
