Halfords Galvanised Effect 400ml

Suitable for use on existing galvanised surfaces and bare steel.

- Temperature resistant to 250°C once fully hardened.

Refer to the icons for quick instructions, working temperature, drying times etc.

For best results ensure the can is at room temperature before use.

Avoid spraying in direct sunshine, cold, damp, humid or windy weather.

Recommended ambient temperature whilst painting +15° to + 25°C.

After use, turn the can upside down and spray for around 3-5 seconds to clear the nozzle and prevent blockages when used next.

Ensure you read the complete instructions and familiarise yourself with each step.

Ensure you have all consumables needed to hand before starting the repair.

Preparing for Paint

Before starting the repair, clean the panel with a lint free cloth and a suitable surface cleaner/ degreaser.

Ensure that the bare surface is solid and as rust free as possible by using suitable abrasive paper, wire wheels etc.

Once the area is fully prepared, clean the panel again with surface cleaner/ degreaser. Then take a tack cloth and remove any dust and contaminants from the panel. Use a quality masking tape and masking paper or roll to fully mask off any areas not to be painted.

Note: This paint is designed to bond to bare steel and galvanised surfaces. Painting over existing primer or paint may cause adhesion issues.

Painting

Shake the can for 2 minutes once the agitator ball inside is heard and apply a first thin coat to give best possible adhesion. Hold the can around 25-30cm from the panel, press the nozzle and move the can in a smooth side-to-side motion.

Allowing time in-between coats, slowly build up the layers of paint until a uniform thickness and coverage is achieved (2-3 coats).

CAUTIONS

*The drying time can change depending on the ambient temperature, humidity and the thickness of the coats applied. Ensure the paint is fully dry before moving onto the next stage.

Take care when preparing older paint surfaces (Pre 1970) as these may contain harmful Lead.

Ensure ventilation is adequate in the area you are painting in to prevent harmful build-up of solvent gasses."
